NASA’s SpaceSim, which allows users to dock the Space Shuttle with the International Space Station in virtual space, is one of the many examples of our custom development.
| Custom Development of Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) Training Systems:
The number of possible applications of VR and AR to industrial skills training is immense. As with SimSpray™ and SimWelder™, the use of virtual reality is a proven method to quickly and efficiently transfer skills where body positioning and muscle movements are critical to the quality of the completed work. Heavy equipment maintenance training is another area where the use of virtual reality could enhance and quicken skills development. Imagine if having a large and expensive machine in the classroom was no longer required for hands-on training exercises. Students could interact with a computer generated 3D view of the equipment while using physical tools to practice maintenance tasks. AR features could provide students with the feeling of what it is like performing the tasks on a job site (e.g. manufacturing floor). VRSim has successfully implemented training systems for a broad array of organizations, and our team has proven knowledge and experience with virtual reality technologies: tracking, 3D environments and simulation.
